What's Covered Under This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all services operated by Designed to Quilt, including:
- The website designedtoquilt.com, including the blog and the shop
- The Quilt Geek Quilting Calculator mobile application for iOS and Android, including subscriptions purchased through the App Store, Google Play, or the web via Paddle
It does not apply to the practices of third-party websites or services that we link to but do not operate.
Who Operates These Services
Designed to Quilt is jointly operated by Oblikovanje Ula Kovačič Kokalj, s.p. (Lepa cesta 11, 6320 Portorož, Piran, Slovenia) and Barbara Logar s.p., Barbaland (Črtomirova ulica 22, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia) as joint data controllers under data protection law.

What Information We Collect and Why
When you visit our website
When you browse designedtoquilt.com, we automatically collect some technical information that doesn't identify you directly — things like your IP address, browser type, operating system, and which pages you visit. We use this to understand how the site is used and to keep it running well.
We also use cookies and similar technologies. You can read more in the Cookie Policy.
When you make a purchase in our shop
Our shop (designedtoquilt.com/shop) sells digital products such as PDF patterns and quilting resources. When you make a purchase, we collect your name, email address, and billing address. Payments are processed through PayPal — we do not store your card details. PayPal's privacy policy applies: paypal.com/us/legalhub/privacy-full
When you sign up for our newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send you quilting content, pattern updates, and news. Emails are sent via Flodesk. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.
When you use the Quilt Geek app
Quilt Geek is available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play. Two calculators are always available without a subscription. A paid subscription (monthly, quarterly, or annual) unlocks full access to all calculators and charts.
When the app is installed, it automatically generates an anonymous user ID. This ID is managed by RevenueCat and is used to track your subscription status. We can see subscription data associated with these IDs, but we cannot identify individual users from them alone.
When you use the app, we may collect limited technical data — such as device type, operating system version, and app version — to keep the app running well and to fix issues. We do not use this data for advertising.
If you grant permission, we may send you push notifications about app updates or features. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.
Subscribing via the App Store or Google Play
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not receive your name, email address, or any payment details — everything is handled by the respective platform. The subscription receipt is linked to your anonymous RevenueCat user ID to activate your access.
Apple privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/app-store
Google privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Subscribing via the web (Paddle)
Subscriptions can also be purchased on the web, processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (18–29 Mora St, London, EC1V 8BT, UK), who acts as the Merchant of Record. For web purchases, we receive your email address (used for your receipt, redemption link, and subscription management), your billing address, and your transaction history. Payment details are processed by Paddle — we do not store your card information. Transaction data is synced with RevenueCat to activate your subscription.
Paddle privacy policy: paddle.com/legal/privacy
After your purchase, you receive a one-time redemption link by email. Opening this link on your device connects your Paddle transaction to your anonymous RevenueCat user ID, activating your subscription. This is the only point at which your email address is linked to your in-app user ID. Redemption links expire after 60 minutes — if yours expires, a new one is sent automatically.

Legitimate interests — for analytics, fraud prevention, platform security, and improving our services. We only do this where our interests don't override your rights.

Mediavine Partners (companies listed below with whom Mediavine shares data) may also use this data to link to other end user information the partner has independently collected to deliver targeted advertisements. Mediavine Partners may also separately collect data about end users from other sources, such as advertising IDs or pixels, and link that data to data collected from Mediavine publishers in order to provide interest-based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers and apps. This data includes usage data, cookie information, device information, information about interactions between users and advertisements and websites, geolocation data, traffic data, and information about a visitor's referral source to a particular website. Mediavine Partners may also create unique IDs to create audience segments, which are used to provide targeted advertising.

Where Your Data Is Stored
We operate from Slovenia. Our website and shop are hosted by BigScoots, based in the United States. Some of our other service providers also store and process data in the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards — including Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission — to ensure your data is protected to GDPR standards. We have Data Processing Agreements in place with all relevant providers.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website for essential functionality, analytics, and advertising. For full details on what cookies we use and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.

- Marketing data — until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent
- Analytics data — in aggregated or anonymized form, for as long as relevant to our services
When data is no longer needed and no legal obligation requires us to keep it, we delete or anonymize it securely.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) for all services
- Access controls based on role requirements
- Secure password handling by our authentication and payment providers
- Regular review and update of our security practices
